Onze prijzen. Bij ons kiest iedere docent het eigen tarief. De prijzen per docent zijn te zien op het profiel van de docent. Verder kan je dit terugzien bij het boeken van een proefles en bij het inschrijven.

Proefles. Je kunt bij ons direct online je proefles boeken. Een proefles duurt 30 minuten en kost hetzelfde als een reguliere les. De proefles is zonder tegenbericht altijd een privéles. Na de proefles kan je beslissen of je kiest voor een inschrijving.

Inschrijven. Je kunt bij de meeste docenten kiezen voor een abonnement of prepaid lestegoed. Bij je eerste inschrijving betaal je eenmalig €17,50 inschrijfgeld. Instromen is gedurende het hele jaar mogelijk.

Abonnement. Bij een abonnement kies je voor een wekelijkse of tweewekelijkse les op een vast tijdstip. Bij de inschrijving betaal je de eerste 4 weken vooruit. Deze 4 weken gelden als proefperiode. Als je in deze periode wilt opzeggen kan je dit aan ons doorgeven. Wij beëindigen de lessen dan na afloop van de eerste 4 weken. Er geldt een maand opzegtermijn voor de lessen binnen een abonnement.

Prepaid. Bij prepaid lestegoed maak je voor iedere les een aparte afspraak. Dit is vooral handig als je niet op vaste tijden kunt. Deze lessen zijn tot 24 uur van tevoren kosteloos te annuleren. Prepaid lessen zijn meestal wat duurder dan abonnement lessen vanwege de extra flexibiliteit. Voor 90 minuten geldt 21% toeslag bovenop de reguliere prijs, voor 180 minuten 14% en voor 360 minuten 7%. Voor een 720 minuten prepaid geldt geen extra toeslag.

Jeugdfonds. Zijn muzieklessen te duur? Voor kinderen t/m 18 jaar is het mogelijk om een toelage van het Jeugdfonds te krijgen. Lees verder over het Jeugdfonds of het Cultuurtegoed Rotterdam.

Het lesrooster voor abonnementen wordt door de docent zelf vastgesteld. Het lesrooster is terug te zien in de kalender op de persoonlijke loginpagina. De schoolvakanties worden niet standaard vrijgepland door School of Music. Wil je zelf een vakantie doorgeven? Dit kan kosteloos tot een maand van tevoren. School of Music volgt zonder tegenbericht van de docent alleen een beperkt aantal feestdagen. Je kan in je account terugzien welke lessen er zijn ingeroosterd.

Lessen annuleren en opzeggen

Les annulering door cursist

Bij een abonnement worden alle ingeroosterde lessen in rekening gebracht, tenzij deze een maand van tevoren via een schriftelijk bericht zijn afgemeld. Voor opzeggingen geldt ook een maand opzegtermijn. Let op: Je betaalt voor de gereserveerde lestijd, ongeacht je aanwezigheid. Lessen kunnen niet worden ingehaald of verplaatst, tenzij de docent dit aanbiedt.

Voor ingeplande prepaid lessen en proeflessen geldt een minimale annuleringstermijn van 24 uur. Lessen die binnen 24 uur voorafgaand aan de les werden afgemeld door de cursist worden in rekening gebracht. Prepaid tegoed is 2 jaar geldig, lesgeld restitutie is bij prepaid niet mogelijk tenzij de docent verhinderd is.

Les annulering door docent

Lessen die worden geannuleerd door de docent worden altijd gecompenseerd met een inhaalles of vergoeding van het lesgeld. De cursist is niet verplicht om de les in te halen. Lessen die niet binnen een periode van 3 maanden zijn ingehaald worden vergoed.

Algemene voorwaarden

Betalingen. Het lesgeld wordt maandelijks vooruitbetaald via automatische incasso of handmatige betaling via een betaallink, hier gebruiken wij Mollie voor. Dit zorgt ervoor dat we direct de betaalstatus kunnen aanpassen na een transactie. Let op: handmatige betalingen kunnen uitsluitend worden gedaan via de betaallink op de factuur.

Prijswijzigingen. Docenten kunnen bij School of Music zelf hun tarief bepalen. Prijswijzigingen in het lesgeld worden minimaal een maand van tevoren aangekondigd. Ieder jaar op 1 augustus wordt tevens het lesgeld opnieuw vastgesteld op basis van de leeftijd van de cursist op dat moment.

Privacy Statement. Om te voldoen aan de nieuwe wetgeving inzake de privacy hebben we een Privacy Statement opgesteld. Hierin kan je teruglezen hoe wij omgaan met persoonsgegevens en wat we doen om de veiligheid van deze gegevens te waarborgen.

Verhindering cursist of docent bij abonnement. Wanneer de cursist geen gebruik maakt van de afgesproken les, is niettemin het lesgeld verschuldigd. Gemiste lessen kunnen niet worden ingehaald tenzij deze een maand van tevoren schriftelijk zijn afgemeld. Als de cursist langer dan twee weken ziek is, vervalt daarna het verschuldigde lesgeld tot aan het moment dat de lessen weer doorgaan. Dit dient wel vooraf gemeld te zijn aan de docent. Bij verzuim van de docent wordt de les ingehaald of door een andere docent waargenomen. Als dit niet lukt wordt de gemiste les verrekend.

Verhindering cursist of docent bij prepaid. Een gemaakte lesafspraak kan in het geval van prepaid lestegoed tot 24 uur voor de les geannuleerd worden bij de docent, daarna wordt deze in rekening gebracht. Als de docent verhinderd is wordt de lestijd niet in rekening gebracht.

Opzegtermijn. Zonder opzegging wordt de inschrijving telkens automatisch verlengd met 1 maand. Opzeggen kan met inachtneming van een opzegtermijn van 1 maand, dit doe je via je persoonlijke pagina bij 'Inschrijvingen' en dan via de knop 'Opzeggen'.

Abonnement wijzigen. Voor een wijziging van de lesvorm geldt een wijzigingstermijn van 1 maand. Je kunt dit zelf doorvoeren via je persoonlijke pagina bij 'Inschrijvingen' en dan via de knop 'Wijzigen'.

Proefmaand: na de inschrijving geldt er gedurende de eerste 4 weken geen opzegtermijn. Bij opzeggingen in deze periode stoppen de lessen na de eerste 4 weken. Eventueel vooruitbetaald lesgeld voor een nieuwe les maand wordt dan teruggestort.

Terms and Conditions

Our prices. At School of Music each teacher chooses their own rate. The prices per teacher can be seen on the teacher's profile. You can also see this when booking a trial lesson and when registering.

Trial lesson. You can book your trial lesson directly online. A trial lesson lasts 30 minutes and costs the same as a regular lesson. Unless stated otherwise, the trial lesson is always a private lesson. After the trial lesson you can decide whether to enroll.

Enrollment. With most teachers, you can opt for a subscription or prepaid lesson credit. For your first enrollment you pay a one-off €17.50 registration fee. Enrollment is possible throughout the year.

Subscription. With a subscription you choose a weekly or bi-weekly lesson at a fixed time. When signing up, you pay for the first 4 weeks in advance. These 4 weeks count as a trial period. If you wish to cancel during this period, you can let us know. We will then end the lessons after the first 4 weeks. A one-month notice period applies to lessons within a subscription.

Prepaid. With prepaid lesson credit, you make a separate appointment for each lesson. This is especially convenient if you can't commit to fixed times. These lessons can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance. Prepaid lessons are usually slightly more expensive than subscription lessons because of the added flexibility. For 90 minutes a 21% surcharge applies on top of the regular price, for 180 minutes 14% and for 360 minutes 7%. For a 720 minutes prepaid lesson no surcharge applies.

Youth Fund. Are music lessons too expensive? For children up to and including 18 years old, it is possible to get a grant from the Youth Fund. Read more about the Youth Fund or the Cultuurtegoed Rotterdam.

The lesson schedule for subscriptions is set by the teacher. The schedule can be viewed in the calendar on your personal login page. School holidays are not automatically cleared by School of Music. Would you like to register a holiday yourself? This can be done free of charge up to one month in advance. Without prior notice from the teacher, School of Music only observes a limited number of public holidays. You can see in your account which lessons are scheduled.

Cancelling and terminating lessons

Lesson cancellation by student

With a subscription, all scheduled lessons will be charged unless cancelled in writing one month in advance. Cancellations are also subject to one month's notice. Please note: you pay for the reserved lesson time, regardless of your attendance. Lessons cannot be made up or rescheduled unless offered by the teacher.

For scheduled prepaid lessons and trial lessons, a minimum cancellation period of 24 hours applies. Lessons cancelled by the student within 24 hours prior to the lesson will be charged. Prepaid credit is valid for 2 years; prepaid lesson fees cannot be refunded unless the teacher is unable to attend.

Lesson cancellation by teacher

Lessons cancelled by the teacher will always be compensated with a catch-up lesson or reimbursement of the lesson fee. The student is not obliged to catch up the lesson. Lessons not made up within a 3-month period will be reimbursed.

General terms and conditions

Payments. The lesson fee is paid monthly in advance via direct debit or manual payment via a payment link; we use Mollie for this. This ensures that we can immediately update the payment status after a transaction. Please note: manual payments can only be made via the payment link on the invoice.

Price changes. Teachers set their own rate at School of Music. Price changes in the lesson fee will be announced at least one month in advance. Every year on 1 August the lesson fee is also recalculated based on the student's age at that time.

Privacy Statement. To comply with privacy legislation, we have drawn up a Privacy Statement. In it you can read how we handle personal data and what we do to safeguard it.

Absence of student or teacher (subscription). If the student does not attend the agreed lesson, the lesson fee is still due. Missed lessons cannot be made up unless cancelled in writing one month in advance. If the student is ill for more than two weeks, the lesson fee is waived from that point until the lessons resume. This must be reported to the teacher in advance. If the teacher is absent, the lesson will be made up or taught by another teacher. If that is not possible, the missed lesson will be settled.

Absence of student or teacher (prepaid). A prepaid lesson appointment can be cancelled with the teacher up to 24 hours before the lesson, after which the lesson will be charged. If the teacher is unable to attend, the lesson time will not be charged.

Notice period. Without cancellation, the enrollment is automatically extended by 1 month at a time. Cancellation is possible with a 1-month notice period; you do this via your personal page under 'Enrollments' and then via the 'Cancel' button.

Changing a subscription. For a change in the type of lessons, a change period of 1 month applies. You can do this yourself via your personal page under 'Enrollments' and then via the 'Edit' button.

Trial month: after registration, no notice period applies during the first 4 weeks. If you cancel during this period, lessons stop after the first 4 weeks. Any lesson fee already paid in advance for a new lesson month will then be refunded.
