I’ve added a few more available slots on my lesson calendar, but they are not completely fixed since I sometimes have concerts or rehearsals in the evenings, or I need to reserve time for my own practice. It would be wonderful if someone could take mornings hours slot on a regular weekly basis.Semi-professionals or serious amateurs are very welcome. First of all, I’m glad you found my information here. However, I must say that I’m often disappointed to see many unqualified amateurs presenting themselves as professional pianists or teachers. Because private teaching doesn’t require certification, anyone can advertise themselves as a “piano teacher.” For beginners, it can be difficult to tell the difference — and that can be risky for motivated students. I’ve had several students come to me after taking lessons from such “fake teachers,” and unfortunately, I often had to rebuild their technique from the very beginning. I can relate to this personally. I also struggled for years because my first piano teacher was not able to guide me properly. Only several years later, I was lucky enough to study with teachers who had real experience as concert pianists. Since then, I’ve spent more than ten years retraining myself, rebuilding my technique, and undoing bad habits. It took an enormous amount of effort, but it was worth it. Now I truly understand what went wrong, and you can see some of the results in my videos here. Through this process, I became very aware of how to use my body efficiently and naturally at the piano, and I’ve gained much more flexibility and control. I would be happy to share what I have learned with you.

I graduated from Jazz Piano and Electronic Music at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague and I have taught piano for more than 10 years now. On top of being an experienced music educator, I am also a touring and recording musician, mainly with the alternative rock band Etienne Machine. I have been improvising and composing my own music for as long as I can remember and I love transmitting the knowledge and skills I have accumulated over the years. I started playing the piano at the age of 7 with classical music and then went on to study jazz and pop music, where I discovered improvisation, started writing my own music and decided to continue in this path and follow professional studies. I graduated with a bachelor in jazz piano from the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague, followed by a One-Year-Course of electro acoustic music studies at the institute of Sonology, also at the Royal Conservatoire. Even though I started on my parents' impulse, I continued and decided to do it professionally when I discovered improvisation and started writing my own music and joining bands.

Als kind startte ik al vroeg met piano spelen. Toen ik 5 jaar oud was zei de muziekdocent van mijn school tegen mijn ouders dat ik een duidelijk talent voor muziek had. Ze hebben toen een piano aangeschaft en verder had ik geen keus meer! Daarna volgden 7 jaar basisschool voor muziek en 4 jaar muziekcollege. Dit waren mijn leukste studiejaren waarin ik mij goed heb kunnen ontwikkelen in verschillende disciplines. Ik deed in deze tijd ook mee aan 2 landelijke concoursen. Vervolgens volgde ik 5 jaar conservatorium als uitvoerende en docerend musicus. Dit was voor mij tevens een tijd van emotionele en artistieke ontwikkeling. Ik leerde dat het altijd de moeite loont om door te zetten en ik kijk hier nog steeds op terug als een waardevolle periode in mijn leven. Later in Nederland (2001-2003) heb ik ook 3 jaar orgel studie gedaan en hier een hbo diploma in behaald.

Hello! I'm Alessandro and I started music when I was 6 and since that moment I have never stopped. I started in my hometown in Italy and for my studies I have been to Bologna, Paris and The Hague. I played for many years the modern piano and later I decided to devote myself to early music and play harpsichord. We could define the harpsichord as the grandfather of the piano, sometimes with two keyboards and beautifully painted, they can have a bright and sunny sound. The main different with the piano is in the mechanics: in the piano we have hummers that hit the strings, in the harpsichord the strings are plucked (like in a guitar to understand). In my lesson we can discover both instruments and understand how they work and what kind of technique we need to make them sound at their best! We can work on pieces you like on both instuments and also learn the basso continuo, the technique used to accompany other instruments such violins, flutes, cellos in the time of Vivaldi and Bach!

After a few years of group lessons and self study I decided to look for a private classical piano teacher. After 6 months of lessons with Seoie I have improved much more than I was expecting. Seoie taught me the fundamentals and how to properly read sheet music in a fun and engaging way. Seoie listens to your goals and encourages to request songs you like to learn. She is a patient and fun teacher who adapts to what her student needs. I highly recommend Seoie if you want to learn or improve on the piano.

Ik ben bij Andreas met lessen begonnen met het idee om Schubert 'goed' te leren spelen. Andreas' eerste observatie was dat het al aardig klonk, gegeven de gebrekkige techniek. Dat laatste was precies waar ik aan wilde werken. Het verbeteren van de techniek gaat met eenvoudige oefeningen en composities, waarbij veel aandacht is voor het luisteren. Kleine passages spelen en letten op de details. Samenspel van de vingers en handen, manier van aanslaan van een noot, nootlengte, ritme, accenten, etc. etc. Pas met goed luisteren, komt goed spelen. In de tussentijd is er ook ruimte voor uitleg over muziekgeschiedenis, -theorie en anecdotes. Voor mij waren de lessen inspirerend (en gezellig), terwijl in de tussentijd de techniek met sprongen vooruit is gegaan. Helaas komt nu na ruim een jaar door verhuizing alweer een einde aan de lessen. Ik hoop in Noord-Nederland weer zo'n goede pianodocent te vinden!

Na bijna 20 jaar sinds mijn laatste pianoles heb ik een half jaar geleden besloten het pianospel weer op te pakken en kwam toen bij Andreas terecht. Ik vond het idee leuk om weer nieuwe liedjes te spelen, mijn techniek te verbeteren en tegelijkertijd compositielessen te nemen. Andreas geeft heel veel aandacht aan de juiste speeltechniek en kan door zijn ervaring je precies uitleggen wat je anders kan doen en door welke oefeningen je pianospel nog mooier en vloeiender wordt. Dit zijn bijvoorbeeld dingen die mijn oude leraren me nooit hebben uitgelegd en waardoor ik ervan overtuigd ben dat Andreas een uitstekende pianoleraar is. Daarnaast ontdek ik door hem een breed repertoire aan (voor mij nieuwe) muziekstijlen en componisten, die ik in een "standaard" pianoles zeker niet zou hadden ontdekt. In de korte tijd die ik nu al lessen bij hem volg, heeft zich mijn pianospel met flinke stappen verbeterd, en ik zit nu al aan mijn eerste blues-compositie waar ik erg trots op ben. Naast het uitleggen van de muziektheorie, verschillende muziekstijlen en het gebruik van muzieknotatie software, begeleidt Andreas me zeer goed en met veel geduld bij het realiseren en uitwerken van mijn ideen. Hij laat mijn creativiteit altijd de vrije loop en daardoor de ruimte om mijn eigen compositiestijl te ontwikkelen. Ik kan zeker nog heel veel van hem leren en ga altijd met plezier naar de les.

Mijn dochter van 8 heeft sinds kort les van karina. In eerste instantie kwam karina mij wat streng over, maar al snel merkte ik dat karina niet streng maar duidelijk is en super aardig en behulpzaam. Seoie is an amazing, professional and experienced teacher. She was able to quickly connect with my 8 year old son. She has a calm, kind energy and possesses positive attitude. She follows a specific teaching method, which I find important. Also the teacher informs about his progress and occasionally shares videos of small performances during the lesson. My son really enjoys every lesson. He started as a complete beginner and now (a year later) is able to read sheet music and play with independent hand movement without looking at the keys. Great teacher, highly recommend!
