Introductie

I am a musician and teacher with a deep passion for the violin. I started as a child in youth orchestras, experiences that shaped the way I live music and inspired me to pursue the violin professionally.

Since completing my studies, I have truly enjoyed teaching both individually and in groups, on violin as well as piano. For me, teaching is a way to share what inspires me most and to accompany each student on their own musical journey.

I am currently based in The Hague, where I continue learning and exploring creative and diverse ways to make lessons a motivating and enriching experience for every student.

Improvisation as a tool for musical and technical development

For my Master’s thesis at The Musician Educator, I decided to focus on improvisation as my main theme. What excites me about improvisation is that it’s not only a creative tool, but also a powerful way to grow both musically and technically.

In my research, I designed a series of activities based on improvisation that can be adapted to students of all ages and levels. Each activity is grounded in a clear theoretical foundation, but at the same time, it leaves space for freedom, curiosity, and play. The goal is not only to help students develop better technique and a deeper sense of musicality, but also to make them truly enjoy the process of making music.

One of the aspects I find most valuable is how flexible improvisation can be. These activities are always tailored to the needs of each student and their instrument. This way, improvisation becomes a personal journey: for some, it’s about refining intonation or rhythm; for others, it’s about building confidence, finding expression, or simply reconnecting with the joy of sound.

In the end, improvisation helps students to feel more connected—with their instrument, with music itself, and with their own creativity.

About my classes :)

My classes are all about you. I believe music is a universal language that allows us to communicate and express ourselves in unique ways. That’s why your tastes, goals, and needs will always be at the center of our lessons. Together, we’ll shape each class so it feels meaningful, enjoyable, and tailored to who you are as a musician.

A big part of my teaching is based on improvisation. For me, it’s not just about playing freely—it’s about discovering how to feel more relaxed, expressive, and connected with your instrument. Improvisation gives us the freedom to explore sound, build confidence, and improve both technique and musicality in a creative way.

Above all, I want our lessons to be a space where you feel inspired and supported. We’ll celebrate your progress, work on challenges with patience and creativity, and most importantly—enjoy making music together!

I offer violin lessons for all ages and levels.
Music is a universal language—and what better way to explore it than through shared learning. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced player, I will adapt each lesson to your individual needs, pace, and musical goals. Together we can work on technique, musical expression, posture, and even improvisation, depending on your interests.

All musical styles are welcome—from classical to folk, pop or film music—and I encourage students to bring their own musical curiosity to the lessons. I believe in creating a positive, inspiring, and supportive environment where you can grow with confidence and enjoy the process of making music.

Learning the violin is a journey, and I will be there to guide you every step of the way—with patience, creativity, and above all, love for music.
