Music teacher vacancy

Music teacher vacancy

Teaching music is a multifaceted profession that can give you a lot of satisfaction as a teacher. However, there are also practical things around it that you don't always want to deal with: constantly recruiting new students, scheduling and (too often) rescheduling appointments, keeping track of whether everyone pays on time and what to do when they don't. Good news: School of Music takes all of this off your plate. You're good at teaching music, we take care of the rest.

Student recruitment

To build a student base, you yourself are the most important success factor. What you can do is ensure an attractive profile, clear communication with your students and a good first impression during the trial lesson. There are also things you have less control over, such as your online visibility. By joining our platform you solve that problem: you benefit from the excellent online findability of School of Music. In addition, we help you with advice to improve your online presentation where possible. In general, an overarching platform is considered reliable so students are quicker to take the step to a trial lesson.

Choose your collaboration form

What does a collaboration with School of Music look like? You work with us as a freelancer and you naturally retain full control over your teaching practice. We work on a no cure no pay basis: we charge a commission at the moment we pay you.

Recruitment

If you choose collaboration combined with a profile on our site, you pay 18.4% to us for the students we recruit for you. Creating a profile is free and obliges you to nothing. You can work from your own location, but video lessons or home lessons are also possible.

Bringing your own students

If you already have students or recruit new students from your own network, you can have them register with us at a lower commission rate of 8.4%.

Working at a School of Music location

We have a number of our own teaching locations in the Rotterdam area. If you work here, an additional 13% commission applies for the use of the location. You only pay this for the hours you actually teach.

As a freelancer I'm very happy with the services School of Music provides. Through this online platform I reach more students and make myself as a small entrepreneur more visible and findable!

Appointment scheduling

People looking for music lessons can see directly on the site which teachers are available in their area and can book a trial lesson with you in a few clicks. You set the available times yourself and receive a message when a booking is made. You'll notice it saves a lot of time when lessons are scheduled for you automatically. It turns out that customers are much more likely to book a trial lesson when they can reserve it online themselves.

Nice, easy and communicative staff that takes care of all the bureaucracy.

Recurring subscriptions

School of Music is one of the few platforms to also offer recurring subscriptions. Experience shows that students with a subscription stay longer in lessons because they take place at a fixed time during the week. This way you really build something with the student and you know better what to count on financially. Of course there's also the option for people who want lessons irregularly to use prepaid lessons (punch card). In all cases you retain the option to cancel lessons or end them without notice. However, when enforcing things like the notice period, it's nice to be able to refer to the terms and conditions of School of Music.

School of Music has a wide range of teachers. The locations are equipped with the right necessities. The contact is also very pleasant.

Tuition invoicing with payment guarantee

We take collecting tuition fees and dealing with overdue payments off your hands. Students can pay us via monthly direct debit or a direct payment link. We guarantee the payment of your lessons from the moment of registration. We find it important to keep our finances healthy. Therefore, if a student is in arrears for more than a month, we temporarily stop the registration until the payment is received.

Music teacher vacancy requirements

What are the minimum requirements to work with us? Mandatory are:

  • A (completed) music education and/or at least 2 years of experience teaching private lessons.
  • Fluent command of Dutch or English.
  • Own teaching locations must be representative; a bedroom or one-room flat is therefore not allowed.

I now have more than 20 students through you, and especially in these times that's very nice!
