Classical Music has always been the biggest passion in my life and the wish to share it by teaching followed naturally. I am patient with different characters and progress of my pupils but have the urge to lead them to the joy of playing piano. I teach/use Alfred's Methods including Theory/Reading/Writing/Vocalizing/Listening/Sight-reading/Technique. Basically it will be similar to language learning and you won't be jumping from a song to the other but helping you to be independent. I deeply care of my students and would be a reliable teacher for you.

I graduated from Jazz Piano and Electronic Music at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague and I have taught piano for more than 10 years now. On top of being an experienced music educator, I am also a touring and recording musician, mainly with the alternative rock band Etienne Machine. I have been improvising and composing my own music for as long as I can remember and I love transmitting the knowledge and skills I have accumulated over the years. I started playing the piano at the age of 7 with classical music and then went on to study jazz and pop music, where I discovered improvisation, started writing my own music and decided to continue in this path and follow professional studies. I graduated with a bachelor in jazz piano from the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague, followed by a One-Year-Course of electro acoustic music studies at the institute of Sonology, also at the Royal Conservatoire. Even though I started on my parents' impulse, I continued and decided to do it professionally when I discovered improvisation and started writing my own music and joining bands.

I graduated from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and also completed a minor in music education. I teach students of various ages and levels. My lessons are enjoyable and inspiring, with a repertoire that offers something for every taste – from classical to pop. I combine technical skills with musical expression and pay attention to rhythm, music theory, and the joy of playing. Together, we discover the music that suits you best! I have more than 10 years of teaching experience. I have personally participated in various piano competitions, through which I have learned a great deal about study methods, preparation, concentration, and coping with stress and frustration. I bring this experience into my lessons so that I can guide my students not only musically, but also mentally in their development.

(ENG) My name is Stas Jar, I am piano teacher and concert pianist. I started playing piano at the age of 5 and my passion for music I got from my parents who are both professional musicians. Born in Moldova and continued my post graduate studies in Performing Arts in U.S. and France. My experience in piano teaching extends over 20 years and includes students of different ages and nationalities. Together with the students we choose the repertoire that would be suitable, enjoyable and somewhat challenging for them. There is also an opportunity (optional) for each student to perform in front of a small number of audience in a concert dedicated only for them. The goal of my lessons is to make each student self efficient and musically well educated.

I’ve added a few more available slots on my lesson calendar, but they are not completely fixed since I sometimes have concerts or rehearsals in the evenings, or I need to reserve time for my own practice. It would be wonderful if someone could take mornings hours slot on a regular weekly basis.Semi-professionals or serious amateurs are very welcome. First of all, I’m glad you found my information here. However, I must say that I’m often disappointed to see many unqualified amateurs presenting themselves as professional pianists or teachers. Because private teaching doesn’t require certification, anyone can advertise themselves as a “piano teacher.” For beginners, it can be difficult to tell the difference — and that can be risky for motivated students. I’ve had several students come to me after taking lessons from such “fake teachers,” and unfortunately, I often had to rebuild their technique from the very beginning. I can relate to this personally. I also struggled for years because my first piano teacher was not able to guide me properly. Only several years later, I was lucky enough to study with teachers who had real experience as concert pianists. Since then, I’ve spent more than ten years retraining myself, rebuilding my technique, and undoing bad habits. It took an enormous amount of effort, but it was worth it. Now I truly understand what went wrong, and you can see some of the results in my videos here. Through this process, I became very aware of how to use my body efficiently and naturally at the piano, and I’ve gained much more flexibility and control. I would be happy to share what I have learned with you.

Hello! I'm Alessandro and I started music when I was 6 and since that moment I have never stopped. I started in my hometown in Italy and for my studies I have been to Bologna, Paris and The Hague. I played for many years the modern piano and later I decided to devote myself to early music and play harpsichord. We could define the harpsichord as the grandfather of the piano, sometimes with two keyboards and beautifully painted, they can have a bright and sunny sound. The main different with the piano is in the mechanics: in the piano we have hummers that hit the strings, in the harpsichord the strings are plucked (like in a guitar to understand). In my lesson we can discover both instruments and understand how they work and what kind of technique we need to make them sound at their best! We can work on pieces you like on both instuments and also learn the basso continuo, the technique used to accompany other instruments such violins, flutes, cellos in the time of Vivaldi and Bach!

I’ve been an adult beginner student of Seoie since six months and it’s been a great journey so far. She takes into account my goals and style as a student and succeeds in offering me a personalized experience. I was looking for a teacher who can teach me the fundamentals of (classical) piano in a traditional way and found the right person in Seoie, but she has shown to be versatile and can also apply others styles of teaching. She has a nice set up at home, and creates a professional learning environment. I would definitely recommend her to other adult learners!

My dauther takes lessons with Seoie for several months and she loves it! Seoie is able to find a proper approach to her to keep her motivated and enjoy lessons and pplaying piano at home. At the beginning my kid struggled with communication due to low level of her English and learning in Dutch would help to build connection faster. On another hand it helped my kid to learn English better. Overall I recommend Seoie and we happy with progress.

I would recommend taking lessons with Seoie for many reasons. She is very kind and attentive, and creates a warm atmosphere. Also her instructions are clear and helpful, and I feel my play has improved more in the past three months than in the three years I have been playing before. Thanks a lot for the lessons!

Our daughter has been taking piano lessons with Shintaro for about a year and half now and we are so happy with how much she’s grown. It’s amazing to see how her playing and her confidence have improved over time. Shintaro teaches with passion and care. He knows how to push her just enough to keep improving but also makes the lessons enjoyable and encouraging. We are truly grateful for his patience, professionalism, flexibility and commitment to helping his students reach their full potential. Highly recommended!!
