Hallo iedereen!
Hi everyone! My name is Ken Kunita and I’m a Japanese clarinet / bass clarinettist based in Rotterdam. I have a music lesson qualification in the Netherlands and also teach at the International School in Rotterdam. I started playing the clarinet because I liked the warm sound of the clarinet. Whether you are new to the clarinet or have already played the clarinet and want to improve your skills, I would like to offer lessons that are suitable for each purpose :))
–As an orchestra musician he was a member of the Dutch National Youth Orchestra in 2014, and performed with the Mannheimer Philharmoniker and the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest where he played various concerts including the Gergiev Festival in 2018. He is also active as a chamber musician. Together with accordionist Helena Sousa Estévez, he forms the Khaer Duo and is a regular guest of the Doelenensemble. He has performed in various concert stages and festivals such as the Dutch National Opera and Ballet, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, the Grachtenfestival, Chambe R music festival, the Royal Concertgebouw and the Doelen. In June 2020, he was selected as an exclusive artist of the Batavierhuis in Rotterdam and has been conducting projects with various artists in addition to his own concerts. He received a music lesson qualification in the Netherlands in 2017 and teaches at RISS, international school in Rotterdam and online. In addition, he is the European sales manager at Japanese music publisher Muse Press, LLC, working remotely with two close colleagues. Although it is a recently established company, they have worked in collaboration with Naxos Japan and with renowned musicians such as Marc-André Hamelin. In addition, one of their publications has been already broadcast on the French National Radio.–
