Intro

Everyone begins learning an instrument for their own unique reason. Perhaps there is a piece of music you've always dreamed of playing, you would like to perform for family and friends, or you are already playing and want to take your skills to the next level.

I started playing the clarinet and bass clarinet at the age of 13. What first attracted me was the visual beauty of the instruments and their distinctive sound. That curiosity quickly grew into a passion that has remained with me ever since.

As a teacher, I believe that every motivation - whether small or ambitious - is valuable. My goal is to help you enjoy making music while supporting you in achieving your personal musical goals. Whether you are taking your first steps or looking to develop further, I aim to provide guidance, encouragement, and a positive learning environment on your journey with the clarinet and bass clarinet.

Profile

I am a Japanese clarinetist and bass clarinetist based in the Netherlands. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Bass Clarinet from Codarts in 2016 and completed a Master's degree in Clarinet there in 2020.

As a performer, I have appeared at venues and festivals including the Dutch National Opera and Gaudeamus International Music Week, and have performed with ensembles such as the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands, Rotterdam Philharmonic, and Mannheim Philharmonic.

Alongside my performing career, I enjoy sharing my passion for music through teaching. I have taught students of different ages and backgrounds in both individual and group settings, online and in person, including at Rotterdam International Secondary School. I also hold a certificate in Buitenschools Muziekonderwijs (Out-of-School Music Education).

In my lessons, I aim to create a positive and supportive environment where students can build confidence, develop strong fundamentals, and most importantly, enjoy making music. Whether your goal is to play for fun, prepare for exams, or pursue music at a higher level, I am happy to help you on your musical journey.
