I have always been passionate about teaching. In high school, music was my favourite subject only because of one reason: my teacher. He was the most passionate, patient and knowledgable man I've ever met. He inspired me to not just be a good musician, but to give back and share as much as possible. I would not be the person I am today if it wasn't for him.

It's because of him that I went back to my old music school a few years ago and began my teaching career. I began teaching free of charge, mainly to underprivileged kids who showed great interest in music but could not afford any means or a formal education. It felt great to impart the knowledge I had recieved from my own teachers to the next generation of musicians.

I am now a second year Jazz Performance Major at Royal Conservatoire The Hague. As you teacher, I will give my absolute all in every lesson, and make sure that every single person I come across feels not just comfortable, rather excited about the chance to learn something new. Whether it means giving extra attention to some particular students or going out of my way to explain a particular concept, I am more than happy to be part of the process and each music to the next generation with all my heart and soul.

Whether you are holding the drumsticks for the first time, or you're just looking to improve or have more fun on the drums, you've come to the right place either way. We will work through the very basics of drumming: from proper technique to rudiments to being able to play all your favourite songs! At the end of every lesson, you will be leave learning something new that will take you one step closer to playing the way you've always dreamt of. It doesn't matter if you wanna play Rock, Pop, Jazz, Metal or any other genre; you will be completely fluent in it in just a matter of time!

The Cajon is such a rare instrument, however it usually ends up being an extremlely useful one. It's one of the most played percussion instruments, especially for people who don't feel like carrying huge drums to gigs everywhere. Just like the drums, we will work on proper technique and sound qualities of the Cajon so that you are able to play all of your favourite songs on it within just a few lessons! As an added bonus, it's also one of the easiest instruments to start with!

African percussion is some of the most energetic and powerfully resonant percussive genres in the world. It's character is so unique and it is instantly recognisable. We shall start with some basic rhythms, and gradually move on to more advanced patterns and techniques that are rooted deep within African musical traditions. Along the way we will also be playing with some songs and learning about how the Djembe is used in popular music and different musical settings where we can play it !

Whenever we think of Latin music, our mind immidiately goes to dancing and partying and having a good time moving along with the music; because that's exactly what this musicv is meant to do! As soon as you here a groove on the congas, you lose the ability to resist and start to flow with the rhythm unctrolably. That's exactly what we're gonna achieve with Latin Percussion! We will learn the rhythms of Congas and Timbales and put them together with drums to create music that makes people wanna dance. We will also learn about songs that use these instruments and play some of them in our lessons!

Theory helps us understand everything we play. While it is of course not necessary to know how to read or write music in order to play it, it can do wonders for you once you learn how to do so. However, theory isn't limited to sheet music. It also provides us with a deeper understanding of harmony, melody and rhythm, all the elemts that make up a song. Thus, knowing even a little bit of theory can help you learn and understand music in a much better way.
