Hi, My name is Yuval Cherno, a guitarist and teacher based in Rotterdam. I started playing guitar over 20 years ago and quickly fell in love with the Heavy riffs of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, the lyrical sound of Jeff beck and the blues of B.B King and Eric Clapton.Later on i got intoduced to jazz and a whole new languege of sounds and rhythms opened up for me.Today, my influences range from jazz and blues to Brazilian and Middle Eastern sounds, and I bring that diversity into my style of playing as well as to my lessons. What I hope to give my students is not only technical skills, but also the confidence and freedom to feel truly connected with themselves and with the guitar!

My own path has taken me from studies at the Jazz Institute (in collaboration with Berklee) to my current studies at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam. I’ve had the privilege of guiding students who successfully enter conservatories and music high schools.

In our lessons we can explore many different things : improvisation, composition, your favorite songs, theory, harmony… but most importantly, we'll focus on feeling truly connected both with yourself and with the guitar. For me, music is not about chasing flawless technique, but about finding your own unique voice on the instrument and enjoying the process.

Stylistically, I'm rooted in jazz, blues, and rock, and equally inspired by both Brazilian music and Middle Eastern sounds-influences that I love to bring into my playing and into the lessons. Whether you're an intermediate or advanced player looking to expand your creativity, or a beginner who wants to take guitar seriously from the start, I'd be happy to be part of your musical journey.
