Hey, my name is Kaija Kivioja. I'm a dedicated, skilled and highly educated teacher of pop / jazz singing and vocal pedagogy from Finland living in IJmuiden, The Netherlands. In the years 2000-2023 I worked in Finland as a singing teacher and senior lecturer teaching bachelor's level students studying to become singing teachers. Because I´ve taught for years also singing pedagogy and supervised teaching practice, I have excellent skills for teaching pupils and students of all levels. Many professional musicians, actors and musical theatre professionals have also received singing coaching from me. My strongest competencies as a teacher are in teaching healthy vocal technique and various music genres with precise instructions and exercises. In addition I have a strong knowledge and expertise in teaching vocal pedagogy. My teaching style is dynamic, effective, supportive and empathetic, and it's not based on any commercial singing method. My main goal in teaching singing is always to find your natural, unique voice and to help you develop your voice and vocal skills in a healthy way. 

As a musician I'm versatile with over 30 years of experience as a lead singer, band leader and pianist with several bands performing various music styles such as pop, rock, R&B, jazz, latin and international folk music. I've mostly performed in night clubs, restaurants, weddings and companies' private events, also for many years on the cruise ships on the routes Helsinki-Stockholm and Helsinki-Tallinn entertaining passengers from all over the world. I also have a lot of experience as a session studio singer.

For more than 20 years, my work as a singing teacher has also included evaluating entrance exams at conservatories and Universities of Applied Sciences. That’s why I have excellent skills, knowledge and expertice in how to prepare for entrance exams and other music related auditions, also for musical theatre auditions. I’ll help you to
