Hi! I'm Isabel Junquera, a clarinetist and teacher with a strong academic background and broad performance experience across a range of musical styles. I’m passionate about sharing the joy of playing the clarinet with students of all ages and levels — from complete beginners to advanced players looking to refine their technique or explore new repertoire.

What to Expect from My LessonsMy lessons are fully customized to your goals, interests, and pace. Whether you want to play classical music, prepare for an audition, or simply enjoy making music, I will tailor each lesson to suit your needs.

Musical Style and Teaching FocusI specialize in classical music — solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoire — but I also enjoy incorporating modern and popular styles when it fits the student’s interests. My approach combines technical development (tone, finger technique, breathing, articulation) with musical expression (phrasing, interpretation, sight-reading, and overall musicianship).

Getting StartedIn our first lessons, we’ll get to know each other, assess your current level, and set clear goals together. If you’re a beginner, we’ll start from the basics: how to hold the clarinet, create a good sound, and read your first notes. For more experienced students, we’ll work on whatever you’d like to develop further. I can also help you choose or improve your instrument setup (mouthpiece, reeds, etc.).

A Bit About MeI studied a Master Degree (clarinet and bass clarinet) at Codarts University. I have performed with various ensembles and orchestras as the Rotterdam Philarmonic Orchestra or the Dutch National Ballet Orchestra, and I’ve been teaching in music schools and privately for several years. I strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel inspired and confident to grow.I have taken lessons from many renowned clarinettists and teachers, which have enriched me to have good tools to apply as a student but also as a teacher.
