Giovanni Vezzi

Hello, my name is Giovanni and I'm a just graduate at Codarts Conservatory of Music in Rotterdam. I love playing funk, blues and rnb music but I'm interested in all kind of music starting from jazz to rock and pop music. 

The reason I started playing is because I always loved the unique capacity of music of bringing up part of ourselves that normally we might not know how to tap into, the way we play reveal much more about ourselves then what we say. I was always fascinated by that and I decided to commit to learn it's fundamentals and, since I wasn't particularly gifted I had to work really hard on my skills. That made me understand a lot of principles that block musicians in their development, so I'd love to share what I learned to help musicians in earlier stages of their musical journey to reach their goals!

I play guitar but I like to have a broad view from a musical point of view, so going beyond the shapes and the limits that the guitar have, but keeping our lenguage and exploit the full potential of the instrument.

My approach is doesn't look for quick fix or tips, it's a general work on your musicality and makes you understand what to prioritize in order to acheive your goals. 

I like to set monthly goal so not to spread too much out the focus and achieving results. If you are interested I like to give some theoretical insights so you can also develop an understanding of the instrument. 

But mainly I like to use the first part of the class as a check of the work done in the week, then give some feedback and additional tools to work on that and then move on to the topic of the day, keeping the last part of the class for some practical application to have fun with the instruments we are developing.

In this classes we will be very practical. After a first quick overview of the DAW we're gonna work on, we'll immediately will start by understanding how a drum beat (and therefore a drum arrangment) work, to get comfortable with the sounds and basic techniques you can use to create variety and excitement.

After that we'll tap into chords, instruments and basslines until finishing a whole track.

The goal is to make you indipendent and give you effective practice strategy to develop your skills over time. 

If you write your own songs and you want to learn to produce them we'll adapt the 'program' to the specific genre you are writing, the principle are the same!
