Stelios
Introduction
I was born on 1995 in Syros Island, Greece. At the age of 13 I wanted to follow my sister’s steps and join our city’s (Patras) windband, after watching her playing concerts and touring around Greece with so many new friends, performing together beautiful music! So, when I heared all the instruments in the band, I decided that I like the most the sound of the trombone. My teacher from the beginning through all the years of my classical trombone studies was Panagiotis Zafeiropoulos (2nd Trombone of Athens State Orchestra). After graduating from Music High School of Pallini on 2013, I started my Bachelor Studies at Ionian University of Corfu (the only University in Greece with a Jazz Department!) studying Jazz Trombone under the guidance of professor George Kontrafouris.
My appetite for new knowledge and experiences, made my visit in 2017, via the Erasmus+ program, the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague for 5 months, in which I returned in 2021 for my Master Studies on Jazz Trombone with teachers Robinson Khoury and Yiannis Marinos.
In 2020 I got my Bachelor’s Degree from Ionian University, and I also own a Classical Trombone Diploma and Harmony, Contrapunctus and Fugue Degrees from Alfa Conservatory in Athens, as I always desire to expand my musical knowledge besides the trombone. During my years as a student I attended masterclasses and workshops of: Wycliffe Gordon, Jiggs Whigham, Ravi Coltrane, Ari Hoenig, Ed Partyka, Markus Stockhausen, Pete Saunders, Eric Ineke, John Ruoco, Jean-Michel Pilc, Gilad Hekselman, Juraj Stanik, Antonis Andreou, Petros Klampanis, The Athens State Orchestra’s Brass Ensemble and others. All these people, affected the way I am playing now, the way I practice and the way I am thinking about music, and that is what I am trying to deliver when I am teaching someone.
It is a blessing that have toured in many places around Greece, The Netherlands, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Kosovo and other balkan countries with symphonic and wind orchestras, Big Bands and smaller ensembles in some of the most historic theaters and cultural centers. I like to play and record as a session trombonist with various jazz, reggae, latin or even Greek folk music ensembles.
Notice: Ik spreek nog alleen Engels, so, even if you don’t feel confident about your English speaking skills, we will always find a comfortable way to communicate, especially through music!!!

Trombone and trumpet lessons lessons
For either trombone or trumpet lessons, I have a great experience in teaching both students that had never played music before, but also advanced musicians. A new student does not have to prepare something for the trial lesson, but needs to have his own instrument. Together, we will explore the art of those brass instruments in any musical environment that the student desires, like classical, jazz, funk, reggae, latin etc.
Music theory lessons
Whatever instrument you choose, you will have to attend theory courses in order to understand the basics in the world of music. Music theory lessons will include melodic and rhythmic exercises, notation and terminology, ear training, solfege, and how to apply these concepts in your everyday music practice.

I started playing the trombone at a very young age in my local wind band. I met Stelios in Corfu where he was studying jazz trombone and I asked him to give me lessons about jazz trombone technique and improvisation. I can assure you that Stelios is a dedicated trombonist, very enthusiastic about different musical cultures, and a hard-working teacher.
