A Driven And Versatile Vocalist
Born in Athens/Greece, Alkistis developed an interest for music since a very young age. This led her to attend the music high school of Pallini in Athens where she was trained in Western classical and Greek folk music. She studied Musicology in Athens University (Bachelor degree) and parallel Classical Piano in Private Conservatories in Athens.
Singing was always present in her life either as being a member in choirs or being the lead singer or backing vocalist in different kind of bands like pop/rock/funk/jazz and Greek music. Her curiosity for Jazz music and Improvisation was major therefore she decided to move in the Netherlands and study Jazz singing at The Royal Conservatory of The Hague(NL) where she graduated with a Bachelor degree and soon she will graduate with a Master’s in Jazz Performance from Codarts Conservatory of Rotterdam (NL).
She collaborated as lead singer with different kind of bands in Greece and the Netherlands like 8espesious small band, Midnight sound, Pentology, Jazz Hug Quartet, Trio del sol among others and she is currently leading her Jazz Quintet with original compositions and arrangements on modal jazz tunes.
She has performed in many venues and festivals in Greece, Belgium and the Netherlands. Her music is inspired by: Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Herbie hancock, Joe Henderson and more.
Exploring the Voice and Musicality
Alkistis loves to teach and explore the voice and musicality of every unique person. Her goal is to show the way to her students how to develop a healthy way of singing, bring out all the possibilities of the voice, extend the range and explore the colours. The most important is to enjoy music and singing and through exploration find the direction that they want. Alkistis is specialised in Jazz Singing but also in other styles of modern music like pop/rock/soul and Greek music.

Piano & Music Theory
Alkistis also teaches Classical piano for beginners and harmony for the piano (Jazz/pop).She has been working as a piano and music theory teacher since 2009.The lessons are focusing on technique, repertoire, sight reading, harmonic analysis and music theory.
